I am a visual artist and illustrator working in the medium of linocut printmaking. I explore themes of spirituality, mysticism, relationships, nature, beauty and social justice, making visual reference points that support people and communities engaged with these experiences.
I love printmaking because of its strong graphic qualities, its history as a medium within social movements, and the potential for more democratic access to the art it produces. I love linocut printmaking because of the directness of the process, and the portable, teachable and shareable nature of the materials.
I hope to continue in the tradition of liturgical and social movement artists such as Ade Bethune, a frequent collaborator and contributor to the Catholic Worker movement. I hope to contribute art to this world that is nourishing, thought-provoking, timely, prophetic, beautiful and of service to those who need it.
